Terms of Service

Terms of ServicePrivacy Policy

Summary (not a substitute for the full terms)

SkinsOutpost is a venue that connects players who want to buy, sell, or trade CS2 items. The actual item transfer happens on Steam, between users. We are an intermediary - not the seller or buyer of any item. Reversing a Steam trade or charging back after delivery results in a permanent ban and recovery of the funds. Funds are held in trade protection for a period after delivery before a seller is paid.

1. Acceptance & eligibility

By accessing or using SkinsOutpost (the “Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live), legally able to enter a contract, not located in a region we are prohibited from serving, and not banned by Steam or by us. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What we are - and aren’t

The Service is a marketplace and matching venue. Items are transferred directly between users through Steam’s trade system. We never take custody of your CS2 items. We do not own, sell, buy, appraise, or guarantee any item, its authenticity, value, float, stickers, or condition. Listings and prices are set by users.

3. Your account

You sign in through Steam. You are responsible for your account, your Steam account, your trade URL, and all activity under them. Keep your credentials secure. You may not use the Service to evade a ban, operate multiple accounts to abuse promotions or limits, or act on behalf of a sanctioned or prohibited party.

4. Wallet, payments & funds

Your account includes a site balance (your “Wallet”). Funds you add are buy-credit used to purchase items on the Service and are spend-only; the proceeds you earn from sales are held separately and are the only funds you may withdraw. Each purchase, sale, or trade you make through the Service is a “User Transaction”. A sale fee of 2% applies to completed sales, a processing fee is added to deposits, and a withdrawal fee applies when you cash out earnings (each subject to change with notice and shown before you confirm). You are responsible for any taxes on your activity. We may set limits, holds, or reserves, and may require identity verification before a withdrawal. We never receive or store your full card details.

All payments for User Transactions are independently processed through our third-party service provider, Stripe, via Stripe Connect. Stripe is a regulated money transmitter and holds funds for Users in sub-ledgered accounts. We maintain internal records of your balance but do not ourselves hold your funds; funds remain with Stripe until withdrawal instructions are processed.

We may hold sale proceeds from the seller of a User Transaction until the Steam trade protection period ends.

5. Trades, delivery & trade protection

After a purchase, the seller delivers the item on Steam and the buyer confirms receipt. To protect against trade reversals, a seller’s proceeds are held in “trade protection” for 8 days after the buyer confirms before becoming withdrawable. Delivery, confirmation, and protection timers are described in your Orders page. You are responsible for completing trades honestly and promptly and for the accuracy of your trade URL.

6. No reversals, no chargebacks

Once an item is delivered, the trade is final. Reversing a Steam trade, recalling an item, or initiating a chargeback/dispute on a deposit after value has been delivered is fraud. If you do this, you authorize us to (a) permanently ban your account, (b) reverse and refund the affected counterparty, and (c) recover (claw back) the corresponding amount from your balance and future proceeds. You agree not to dispute payments processed through the Service except through the dispute process in Section 8.

7. Refunds & cancellations

  • Before delivery: a buyer or seller may cancel an unfilled order; the buyer’s held funds are returned in full.
  • Confirmed trade reversal: if a delivered trade is reversed and we confirm it, the victim is refunded and the at-fault party is banned and clawed back.
  • After a seller is paid out (trade protection ended), sales are final except where required by law or resolved through a dispute.
  • Deposits add buy-credit used to purchase items. Buy-credit is spend-only: it is not withdrawable and is not refundable to the original payment method except where required by law. Only proceeds you earn from sales are withdrawable, subject to verification and limits.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where a transaction is fully reversed.

8. Disputes & reversals

If a trade is reversed or something goes wrong, report it from your Orders page within the trade-protection window. We review reports and, at our reasonable discretion, refund a victim, release or withhold funds, and ban an at-fault party. Our decision on a dispute is final as a matter of the Service; it does not limit any rights you have at law.

9. Prohibited conduct

You may not: commit fraud or scams; reverse trades or charge back after delivery; launder money; use the Service for any illegal purpose; list items you don’t own or can’t deliver; manipulate prices or abuse bugs; attempt to access other users’ accounts or our systems; use bots/scrapers against our rules; or trade prohibited, stolen, or restricted items. We may suspend or ban accounts and withhold funds tied to prohibited conduct.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that trades will complete, that Steam will be available, that prices or float/sticker data are accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. CS2, Steam, and item availability are controlled by Valve, not us.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost items, lost profits, or losses caused by Steam, Valve, payment providers, or your own actions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 90 days before the claim or USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SkinsOutpost and its operators from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your trades, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Most concerns can be resolved by contacting support first, and you agree to try that before starting a formal proceeding. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Florida. You and we waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, except where that waiver is unenforceable. Either party may still bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.

14. Changes & contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notice in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept them. Contact: support@skinsoutpost.com.
