The short version
We collect the minimum needed to run a CS2 trading marketplace: your public Steam identity, your trade URL, basic technical data, and a record of your wallet and trades. We never see your Steam password, we don’t store full card or crypto credentials, and we do not sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
SkinsOutpost (the “Service”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at support@skinsoutpost.com.
2. What we collect
- Steam identity: your SteamID and public Steam profile (display name, avatar, profile URL) via Steam sign-in. We authenticate through Steam’s OpenID - we never receive your Steam password.
- Trade data: your Steam trade URL, listings, offers, orders, and trade history on the Service.
- Wallet & transactions: your site balance, deposits, withdrawals, and transaction ledger.
- Payment data: processed by third-party payment providers (e.g. card / crypto processors). They handle your payment credentials under their own privacy policies; we do not store full card numbers or private keys.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser info, and basic usage/log data, used for security and fraud prevention.
- Support: messages you send us.
3. How we use it
To provide and operate the Service (sign-in, listings, trades, wallet); to process deposits, payouts, and trade protection; to prevent fraud, scams, money laundering, and abuse; to provide support; to comply with legal obligations; and to improve the Service. We rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in a safe marketplace, your consent where required, and legal obligations as our bases for processing.
4. When we share it
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: payment processors and infrastructure providers that run the Service on our behalf; authorities or parties where required by law or to investigate fraud, safety, or violations of our Terms; a successor in a merger or acquisition; and others with your consent. Your public Steam profile and listings are, by nature, visible to other users of the Service.
5. Cookies
We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Data retention
We keep account, wallet, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and anti-fraud obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Some records (e.g. financial logs) must be retained for a statutory period even after account closure.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents may request disclosure of data practices and opt out of “sale/share” (we don’t sell). To exercise any right, contactsupport@skinsoutpost.com; we may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Security
We protect your data with measures appropriate to the risk (encrypted connections, access controls, and segregated payment processing). No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your own Steam account and devices secure.
9. Children
The Service is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will remove the account and data.
10. International users
We may process and store data in the United States (where our database and hosting providers operate). If you access the Service from elsewhere, you consent to that transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by law.
11. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Questions or requests:support@skinsoutpost.com.
